WoW Cooking Guide

Cooking is a valuable skill to have in World of Warcraft. Many players in the past have neglected to utilize this valuable skill, and it wasn't until the release of the Burning Crusade Expansion pack did it start gaining some recognition and use by gamers. The Burning Crusade opened up a lot more opportunites and required the use of cooking which got more people to try it out. This skill comes in handy and goes well with several other professions; fishing being one of them.

While cooking isn't a necessary profession it is one that has substantial benefits, like earning extra gold for example. There's no harm having multiple ways to earn gold, right? With that in mind earning gold through cooking isn't very difficult and is one of the main reasons why players get a lot of fun out of learning this profession.

Cooking Guide:

So getting started with my wow cooking guide you need to know that in order to cook you are going to need a fire. Pretty obvious huh? So just open up your Spell Book, select Basic Campfire and Voila! There you have it. Blizzard recently removed the past three necessary items which were simple wood, flint, and tinder, but these are no longer required. This makes things a lot easier during gameplay.

Once you've got your fire lit, open up your spellbook and look for cookbook. Once you open up your cookbook look at the recipes that you have and decide on the ones you would like to try. Keep in mind that your fire will not last very long and has a 5 minute cool down. When your ready to start cooking click on the appropriate ingrediants for the recipe you are going to use and you will start cooking. For some recipes you will notice that they require items you may need to buy. Here is an example recipe for Crocolisk Steak.

1. 1 crocolisk Meat
2. 1 set of mild spices

Both of these items can either be bought from a vendor. Items that you do not have can also be purchased from your cooking trainer and once you complete your cooking apprenticeship you'll have access to more items. Once you begin questing more and it will be easier and easier to get the items that you need to cook your recipes.

Advancing your Skill

When you first start cooking you won't have many of the items required to cook more advanced recipes. A quick way to progress through this phase, and go from skill level 1 to 375 is to first start at ironforge. When your at Ironforge purchase one flour and one mild spices to make Spiced Bread. Making spiced bread is an easy recipe and will help you to advance to the next 39 levels. Once you hit level 40 you are going to need 30 mild spices. Once you have those items head over to Auberdine and look for a Moonkin. Keep killing Moonkins until you have acquired about 20 eggs - the more the better. Doing this will take you to level 60.

Once you've hit level 60 head south to Ashenvale. Once you get here find the Crawlers, and grind them to acquire clams. Get as many clams as you can and then go back to Ironforge. Go ahead and cook the eggs you got from the Moonkin and then sell them. Be sure that you have found a cooking trainer so that you can learn to cook the clams that you got. Once you reach this point your skill level will be up towards 130. Get your hands on the expert cookbook and once you have this you will be on the right path to get your skill level to 375.
