Hunter – The Easy Way

Any player would definitely enjoy playing the Hunter class. The Hunter is the only class in the World of Warcraft that deals physical damage from a distance. He does this with the use of his gun, bow, or crossbow. What also sets the Hunter apart from most of the other classes is his ability to tame a beast of his own level, or lower, which will then become his pet and will stay at his side until the Hunter decides to dismiss it or until the pet becomes really unhappy due to the amount of food he is given. The Hunter wears Leather armor up to level 40 and is then able to wear Mail armor.

If you want to play a Hunter you can choose between the following races: Tauren, Orc, and Troll races for the Horde, and Dwarf, Night Elf, and Draenei races for the Alliance.

As the typical World of Warcraft Hunter Guide will show you, it doesn’t take much to level up to level 10. Once you hit level 10 you will be able to take a quest from your Hunter Trainer. If you complete the small chain of quests, which involves the taming of several different beasts, you will receive the Tame Beast spell. You will have to feed your pet on a regular base. The Pet has a small Icon where you will see a face. This face will smile when your pet is happy, and make a sad face if he’s not. The ‘emotional’ state your pet is in also affects the amount of damage he deals, it varies between 75 and 125 percent.

You can control your pet and teach him different kinds of attacks. A pet makes the whole killing process a lot easier. You can send your pet to attack a target, go for a coffee, some lemonade or a cigarette, come back and notice that your pet hasn’t only killed the target you wanted him to kill, but also all the other mobs that came a bit too close.

There are three talent trees available for the Hunter and each one of them makes the Hunter specialize in a particular field. It is also common to see some sort of combination of these talent trees. To begin with you have the Beast Mastery talent tree. If you place your talent points in this tree while leveling your Hunter you will make your pet a lot stronger which simplifies things a lot more even. The Beast Mastery is by many considered to be the best leveling build. The Marksman build is nice at later levels when you start playing in groups and your pet becomes a bit less important. As a Marksman Hunter you will receive several additional shots and improve the damage from the shots that you were already able to make.

Last but not least is the Survival talent build. If you are more of a PvP than a PvE person you will enjoy this talent build. You will not only become a lot tougher to kill, but you will also be able to control your enemies better with several stunning and slowing effects, improved traps and several nice shots.

All together, the Hunter is a nice class to play. Especially for people that make their first character I would advise to choose the Hunter class.
