Leveling in WoW is determined upon your character type, and whether you choose Alliance or Horde.  In this guide we will be focusing soley on leveling a Human character from level 1 to level 30.

Some of the tips in this guide will also for other races, but when it comes to specific quests that will be differences that will not be outlined in this guide.

Lets get started. When you first set up your game the first place that you will find yourself in Elwynn Forest in the North Shire Glade. Its recommended that you get a good feel for your environment and the area you find yourself in. While exploring you will notice that there are wolves frolicking around - kill the wolves and keep killing them until you level up to level three.

Once you hit level three I recommend repairing any damage you have taken and get yourself some new armor. Once your set with new gear it's time for your first quest. Start with the quest titled "A Threat Within" and then "Kobold Camp Cleanup." Once you have completed these two quests you will be ready for two more - "Eagen Peltskinner" and "Wolves Across the Border." Now to get to level four you may need to grind some more wolves until you pick up about 8 Wolf Meat Items.  If wolves are getting boring for you, you can also grind some of Kobold's vermins. Once you hit level four go ahead and turn in your quests and take the next one that is available to you. To level up to 5 quickly grind the Kobold Workers in the area.

Once you complete the next seven quests that you are given you will be advanced to level seven by following the suggestions so far. All of the quests so far are actually really easy and only take a few hours to complete. Keep in mind to keep grinding whenever you have the chance as this will increase your leveling speed. Now to get from level seven to level thirty it is a straighforward process that I'm going to lay out for you. Just follow my suggestions and you'll be at level thirty. All you have to do is continue questing, completing your quests, turning them in and getting their follow-ups. And if you have been grinding like I suggested you will level faster then those who choose not to do this.

While doing quests, and grinding are effective ways to level, there are some items that you are going to need to level up faster.  Below I have included those items that you should have no matter what. The items that you should not be without are:

Level Six - North Shire Valley

Find and kill the Defias Thug and collect 12 red burlap bandanas.
Next find and kill Gerrick Padfoot and loot his head.

Level Seven - Goldshire

Find and kill stonetusk boards until you get four pieces of meat.
Next you will want to find and kill Goldtooth and then loot Bernice's Necklace.

Level Eight - Goldshire

In the "Operation Recombobulation" quest, there is a special chest that you are going to need to find. Inside the chest you will find "Rumbleshot's ammo".
Make sure to take this item.

Level Nine - Yeti Cave

In the yeti cave you will need to grind all the yeti's you encounter until you collect at least eight Wendigo's Manes.
After this go outside and find the gnomes and grind until you collect eight "Restablization Cogs" and eight "Gyromechanic Gears"

Level Ten

Look for Frosmane Hold and then kill everything that comes in your path. Look for a cave in the mountain that will be above you. Once inside the cave look for a basket of shimmer weed and take the basket.
